Engineered for the most demanding flexible substrates, Monstercolors Flexithane is a high-performance, elastomeric polyurethane coating designed to move with your equipment. Whether you are renovating or protecting, this specialist paint provides a durable, professional finish that won’t crack or flake—even when stretched.

Widely trusted for its exceptional performance, this paint is a staple for those maintaining Amortek models and is the professional choice for surfaces subject to extreme movement.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Extreme Flexibility: Formulated to stretch up to 800%, allowing the film to remain intact even under severe stress.

  • Superior Adhesion: Bonds expertly to difficult surfaces, including PU, rubber, and various fabrics.

  • Highly Opaque: Designed for true colour rendition, typically requiring only one coat for excellent coverage.

  • Durable Protection: Offers high abrasion resistance and is ideal for preventing powdering on rubbing strakes and mouldings.

  • Marine Grade Quality: Perfectly suited for applications ranging from racing yacht spinnakers and boat covers to truck side curtains.

Technical Specifications

  • Finish: Professional Semi-Gloss/Satin.

  • Sizes Available: 250ml and 500ml tins.

  • Coverage (500ml): Sufficient to apply two coats to approximately 4–5 square metres.

  • Drying Times: Touch dry in 5–45 minutes (depending on application); full cure achieved in 24 hours.

Application Advice

  • Preparation: Always clean surfaces thoroughly with Monstercolors Marine Prep Cleaner before application.

  • Mixing: No complex mixing is required; simply shake or stir the tin vigorously before use.

  • Application Method: We highly recommend applying with a natural bristle brush. Synthetic bristles and rollers are not recommended, as they may dissolve due to the solvents present in the formula.

  • Safety: Ensure adequate ventilation and wear appropriate respiratory equipment during application.

Note: Not suitable for Hypalon. Please refer to the technical data sheet for full safety and handling procedures.

For a successful bond, surfaces must be 100% free of salt, grease, and silicone. We strongly recommend cleaning the substrate thoroughly with Monstercolors Degreaser prior to application. Ensure the surface is completely dry before spraying. Note: This product is not suitable for Hypalon.

Aerosol Application:

Preparation: Shake the can vigorously for at least two minutes once the mixing ball begins to rattle.

Test Spray: Always perform a test spray on an inconspicuous area to check for substrate compatibility and colour match.

Spraying: Hold the can 20–25cm from the surface. Apply in light, even "cross-coats" (horizontal then vertical) to prevent runs or sagging.

Coats: This product requires a minimum of two coats to ensure full opacity and maximum elastomeric durability. Allow sufficient flash-off time between layers.

Clearing the Nozzle: After use, turn the can upside down and spray for 2–3 seconds to clear the valve and prevent the nozzle from clogging.

Drying Times:

Touch Dry: 30–45 minutes.

Handleable: 2–4 hours.

Full Cure: 24 hours (at 20°C). Allow a full cure before folding, rolling, or inflating treated materials.
