Engineered for the most demanding flexible substrates, Monstercolors Flexithane is a high-performance polyurethane coating that dries to a semi-gloss, elastomeric film. With the ability to stretch up to 800%, this unique formula can literally be tied in knots without cracking. It is the professional choice for non-metallic surfaces subject to extreme movement, providing a durable, highly opaque finish in a single coat.

  • Extreme Flexibility: Stretches up to 800%—ideal for sails, boat covers, and rubber inflatables.

  • Superior Adhesion: Expertly bonds to difficult substrates including PVC, PU elastomer, rubber, and leather.

  • Rapid Drying: Touch dry in 30–45 minutes; full cure in 24 hours.

  • Marine Grade: Widely used for hot air balloons, truck side curtains, and racing yacht spinnakers.

  • High Opacity: Available in 12 base tints; typically requires only one coat for true colour rendition.

  • Finish: Professional Semi-Gloss.

  • Compatibility: Can be over-coated with Flexithane Clear Topcoat for enhanced wear resistance.

  • Important: Not suitable for Hypalon. Always clean surfaces first with Monstercolors Marine Prep Cleaner.

  • Safety: Suitable respiratory equipment must be worn during application.

For a successful bond, surfaces must be 100% free of salt, grease, and silicone. We strongly recommend cleaning the substrate thoroughly with Monstercolors Degreaser prior to application. Ensure the surface is completely dry before spraying. Note: This product is not suitable for Hypalon.

Aerosol Application:

Preparation: Shake the can vigorously for at least two minutes once the mixing ball begins to rattle.

Test Spray: Always perform a test spray on an inconspicuous area to check for substrate compatibility and colour match.

Spraying: Hold the can 20–25cm from the surface. Apply in light, even "cross-coats" (horizontal then vertical) to prevent runs or sagging.

Coats: This product requires a minimum of two coats to ensure full opacity and maximum elastomeric durability. Allow sufficient flash-off time between layers.

Clearing the Nozzle: After use, turn the can upside down and spray for 2–3 seconds to clear the valve and prevent the nozzle from clogging.

Drying Times:

Touch Dry: 30–45 minutes.

Handleable: 2–4 hours.

Full Cure: 24 hours (at 20°C). Allow a full cure before folding, rolling, or inflating treated materials.
