The ultimate foundation for a professional military-grade finish. Kings Army SpeedBuild Primer is a high-solids, anti-corrosive basecoat specifically formulated to provide maximum adhesion and a smooth, level surface for your topcoat.

Designed for use with Kings Army Industrial paints, this versatile primer is also compatible with most 1K and 2K paint systems. Whether you are restoring a military vehicle, prepping airsoft gear, or finishing large-scale models, SpeedBuild ensures a long-lasting, rust-resistant bond.

Key Features:

  • High-Build Formula: Fills minor surface imperfections and provides a dense, high-solids layer for a superior base.

  • Anti-Corrosive: Active protection against rust and moisture—essential for outdoor and military equipment.

  • Professional Spray Pattern: Fitted with our unique "Flair" Fan Spray Nozzle, delivering a consistent, wide-mist pattern similar to a professional spray gun.

  • Extended Wet Edge: Formulated for a longer wet edge time to prevent dry spray, while maintaining a rapid overall drying time.

Note: For surfaces in direct contact with fuel, we recommend overcoating with our Military 1K Cellulose Paint.

King's Army Industrial Paint: Application Guide

1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, and rust. For best results, degrease the area thoroughly using a panel wipe or solvent cleaner.

2. Priming Requirements
King’s Army Industrial Paint is self-priming and designed for direct application to most surfaces including wood and previously painted items. However, for non-ferrous metals such as Aluminium, Brass, Copper, or Galvanised Steel, we strongly recommend the use of our Etch Primer to ensure a permanent bond. While a primer is not strictly necessary for every job, its use will always produce a more durable, professional finish.

3. Preparation & Shaking
Shake the can vigorously for at least 2 minutes after the mixing ball begins to rattle. This is critical for industrial Alkyd paints to ensure the high-solid matte pigments are fully agitated for a consistent finish.

4. Application Technique
Hold the can 20–30cm from the surface. Apply 2–3 thin, even coats rather than one heavy coat. The unique fan-spray actuator provides a professional spray-gun pattern; use a 50% overlap on each pass for even coverage.

5. Drying Times

Flash Off: 10–15 minutes between coats.

Weatherproof: Structure can be exposed to rain/harsh conditions after 30 minutes.

Touch Dry: 20–30 minutes.

Hard Dry: 24 hours (full cure).

6. After Use
To prevent nozzle blockages, turn the can upside down and spray for 2 seconds until only clear gas emerges. This clears the valve for future use.
