PVC Application & Prep Guide

Our PVC range is a specialist coating designed for high flexibility and maximum adhesion to plastic and vinyl surfaces.

1. Surface Preparation

  • Clean & Dry: Ensure the PVC surface is 100% free of dust, grease, and silicone. Use a mild soapy water solution followed by a specialised plastic cleaner if necessary.

  • No Primer Needed: Our PVC formula is designed to bond directly to the substrate without a primer, maintaining the flexibility of the material.

2. Mixing the Paint

  • The 2-Minute Rule: Stir the tin vigorously for at least 2 minutes. This ensures the elastic resins and pigments are perfectly blended for a consistent finish.

3. Brush-On Technique

  • Application: Use a high-quality synthetic brush or foam roller for a smooth finish.

  • Light Layers: Apply in multiple thin, light coats. This is crucial for PVC to ensure the paint "knits" into the plastic without pooling or running.

  • Flexibility: Avoid heavy builds; thin layers allow the paint to flex with the material once dry.

4. Curing

  • Flash-off: Wait 10 minutes between coats.

  • Full Bond: While touch-dry in 20 minutes, allow 24 hours for the chemical bond to reach full strength before stretching or heavy use of the item.

⚠️ Suitability Note: This product is not suitable for rubber, soft silicone, or highly oily plastics. Always perform a small compatibility test on an inconspicuous area before full application.
